Description We are looking for a personable and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team in New Rochelle, New York.
In this long-term contract role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience.
This position also involves administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the medical office.
Responsibilities: - Welcome patients warmly and assist with check-in processes, ensuring accurate collection of personal and insurance information.
- Verify and update insurance details, addressing any discrepancies to ensure smooth billing processes.
- Handle cash payments securely and maintain accurate financial records.
- Manage patient data by entering and updating information into medical software systems.
- Assist with clerical duties such as filing, organizing, and categorizing medical charts and documents.
- Respond to phone calls and inquiries, scheduling appointments and providing information as needed.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain an organized and efficient office environment.
- Ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards when handling patient information.
Requirements - Familiarity with medical software and systems, with the ability to learn new platforms as needed.
- Basic knowledge of billing functions and insurance processes.
- Strong organizational skills, particularly in managing charts and paperwork.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients and staff effectively.
- Ability to handle cash transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, but training is available for the right candidate.
