Summer Camp Assistant Counselor

Summary

Tinton Falls Cooperative Preschoolis looking for Assistant Counselors to work with our 3-year-old and 4-year-old camp groups for ourCamp-at-the Co-opstarting mid-June through the end of July.

This is thePERFECT JOB for students returning to collegein August or September. We finish camp at the end of July, which allows time for a vacation and college prep before school starts.

TFCP Summer Camp is a place where children come to enjoy their summer days! Each camp day children enjoy free play, art activities, outside play, large motor activities, water play and more. Our counselors introduce weekly themes and incorporate materials and activities into making each theme a playful learning experience.

Our Assistant Counselors are key in providing a fun and positive camp day for our children and help our Counselors make their plans come to life for our campers!

Duties

Assistant Counselor's responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Assistant Counselors are responsible for the health and well-being of the children in their group along with the other campers and staff members on site.

Assistant Counselors are required to arrive 15 minutes before and stay about 15 minutes after the last camper leaves for the day.

Assistant Counselors meet with the counselors to share ideas for the week, finalize plans, and to facilitate in gathering materials as needed.

All staff members work as a team to keep the camp space clean and sanitized throughout each day.

Requirements

Those applying for the Assistant Counselor position should:

Assistant Counselors must have prior experience working with and caring for preschool children.

As per NJ Department of Children Families, Office of Licensing requirements, all newly hired employees must pass a background check and fingerprinting prior to their first day with the children.

TFCP follows all Office of Licensing requirements.

Nice To Haves

CPR and First Aide training is a plus.

Part-time
