Position Summary

THIS POSTING IS FOR TWO IDENTICAL POSITIONS ( POSITION NUMBERS 20070430 & 20070431). BY APPLYING, YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR BOTH AVAILABLE POSITIONS . This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. The Research Assistant position (Time Limited -1 year) will work with the Community Health and Wellness Resource team on the Go NAPSACC Cares project (National Institutes of Health R01 funded study) evaluating a child care teacher weight management online program’s impact on children’s diet quality and physical activity. The Research Assistant will lead recruitment and data collection in child care centers in central North Carolina. The position will assist in prepping materials for recruitment and data collection, train on all study protocols and lead recruitment and data collection of child care center directors, teachers, and 2-5 year old children on site at child care centers in central North Carolina. The Research Assistant will monitor the study email for questions from participants, assist the project manager with data checking for accuracy and completeness, and assist with data entry and cleaning. The RA will lead ASA24 coordination and check daily on progress. Some evening hours will be required.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience

- Reliable transportation for travel to child care centers. - Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. - Excellent customer service skills - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Canva

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience

- Experience in public health, health behavior, exercise science, nutrition, psychology, social work, or related field - Experience using research protocols to recruit and collect data on participants. - Experience in a child care (early care and education) setting.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm; times may vary; some evening hours will be required
