Production Technician 1

SUMMARY:

The Production Technician will be responsible for the Acrylates plant's overall safety and efficiency. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate the DCS system to monitor and control the process.

Perform light maintenance duties such as clearing and opening lines, pumps, and filters.

Assist in the installation of various process equipment and piping.

Retrieve and analyze samples from reactors, columns, and product tanks.

Operate a forklift to transfer raw materials, process supplies, and finished products.

Loading and unloading tanker trucks, box trucks, ISO containers, railcars, etc.

Other duties assigned and needed.

RequirementsREQUIREMENTS:

C-Operator or higher.

Valid forklift certification.

Discipline level not to exceed a verbal.

Ability to work rotating 12-hour shift (DuPont).

Ability to learn new skills and knowledge relevant to the position (process trouble shooting, reactions, distillations, etc.).

Ability to pass the North Plant verbal and written examination within 6 months of hire.

Aptitude in mechanical maintenance.

Ability to perform and understand basic math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, percentages, and ratios.

Ability to work and think independently with little or no supervision.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in extremely hot or cold environments.

Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Ability to handle paperwork correctly, input data into the computer, and perform simple calculations.

Familiarity with Yokogawa DCS systems.

Ability to be respirator certified.
