We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our multi-entity organization. The Controller will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity of the organization while supporting our mission. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, Medicaid regulations, and the unique financial needs of non-profit organizations.

Financial Management:

Oversee Finance team in financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial monthly reporting.

Oversee and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Manage financial operations across multiple affiliated entities within a centralized finance department

Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations, Banking and Funder reporting requirements.

Manage ad-hoc state funded initiatives and ensure full compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements.

Oversee preparation of CFR submittals and manage necessary financial reports to government agencies and funding sources.

Conduct regular monthly, quarterly and annual audits to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Coordinate the annual budgeting process, communicating closely with department heads to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Analyze monthly budget variances, monitor sustainability ratios & KPIs and provide insights to program management for informed decision-making.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor the finance team, promoting professional development and operational efficiency.

Foster a collaborative environment that encourages input and innovation.

Financial Analysis:

Conduct financial analysis to support strategic planning and organizational growth.

Provide financial insights to the Chief Financial Officer to assist in strategic decision-making.

Grant Management & Foundation:

Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial monthly reporting of related Foundation entity.

Collaborate with Foundation staff to ensure informed decision-making and monitor grant performance.

Oversee financial aspects of grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

Provide strategic financial leadership to the executive team and board of directors, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a non-profit or Medicaid environment.

Strong knowledge of Medicaid regulations and funding mechanisms for developmental disabilities.

Proficient in accounting software and financial management systems.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
