Job Summary:
Suburban Testing Labs is growing and we are currently looking for a Laboratory Service Center Associate to join our team in State College, PA. This position actively participates in all Service Center operations, including but not limited to, processing samples for transfer to the Headquarters location, performing select analytical testing, and fulfilling all necessary client requirements. This position works Monday through Friday from 10 am – 6:30 PM.
Job Responsibilities:
Laboratory Responsibilities
Complete routine sample analysis in accordance with SOP’s;
Perform daily equipment and facility maintenance;
Monitor and ensure compliance with operating standards and processes that support customer and regulatory requirements. Recommend changes as appropriate;
Work with Quality Assurance and Client Services to investigate, correct, and prevent client and data quality issues;
Maintain inventory of supplies;
Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of the following:
Laboratory Systems, Equipment, Instrumentation and technology;
Laboratory capabilities and capacity;
Basic regulatory programs and client specific needs relative to assigned analyses;
Laboratory accreditation and Quality Assurance;
Other duties as assigned.
Customer Service Responsibilities
Answer telephones;
Accept samples from walk-in clients and assist with sample login;
Serve as back up to colleagues during vacation times and/or periods of high work volumes;
Other duties as assigned.
Sample Receiving Responsibilities
Prioritize sample logins in a manner that results in samples being ready for analysis;
Ensure all aspects of the Sample Acceptance policy are met or otherwise documented;
Prepare samples for transport to Headquarters;
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a professional laboratory setting;
Prior professional experience with customer service (restaurant, retail, reception, etc.);
Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other Windows software;
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
Education:
Associate’s Degree in Science with a minimum of four (4) college semester credit hours in Microbiology required. Bachelor's Degree in Science preferred.
Relocation:
This position is not eligible for relocation.
Travel Requirements:
This position does not require any travel.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position that will work 8 hours Monday-Friday from 10 am – 6:30 pm in our State College, PA location. Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if the need arises. Must be able to work from home during inclement weather, if needed.

$23 to $27 per hour
