Who We Are:

Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 14,000 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. Our District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9 – 12th grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.

What We Need:

The Head Mentor will be directly responsible to the OTA Specialist.

Responsibilities:

Conduct all required meetings. Plan and participate in New Teacher Great Beginnings each August. Plan meetings with OTA Specialist with follow-up for each scheduled 1st Year and 2nd Year Teacher Meeting. Plan meetings with OTA Specialist with follow-up for each scheduled Mentor Meeting. Conduct four 1st year and 2nd year probationary meetings per teacher contract.

Conduct two (2) mentor meetings during designated months.

Develop meeting agendas and submit to the OTA Office by published deadlines.

Submit attendance sheets and meeting artifacts to OTA OFfice for procesing by published deadline.

Submit a self-reflection of being a Head Mentor by published deadline.

Complete and submit the Head Mentor log by published deadline.

Other duties (as assigned) related to the delivery of the mentoring program.

Requirements: Two years District Mentoring experience along with Training in the 21st Century Mentoring Program.

Qualifications: Professional Educators License

Compensation: Stipend $3000 per school year (to be paid at the end of the SY)
