Workforce Readiness Facilitator

Position Function:

Under the direction of the building administrator, provides instruction in Work-

Based Learning and management and direction of students in Work-Based Learning experiences

and acts as a liaison to build community relationships and workplace opportunities for students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned.)

Acts as lead instructor for Work-Based Learning (5974) providing instruction according to state standards and diploma requirements.

Revises curriculum to meet the state standards, diploma requirements, and prepare students for employment success.

Acts as a liaison to local communities to establish business partners and work-basedlearning job sites.

Monitors students participating in Work-Based Learning opportunities through the 14career programs.

Monitors student conduct and attendance in class and at the job site.

Conducts appropriate assessments of student performance and provides timely feedback to support continuous improvement and skill growth.

Recruits for and conducts Work-Based Learning summer school.

Collaborates with high school counselors and career coaches on the requirements for all Work-Based Learning experiences at WCC and the high schools.

Conducts Career Discovery Meetings (CDMs) for all WCC students to meet state requirements.

Assists with the coordination and implementation of Interview Days.

Works with all WCC students to prepare employment documentation.

Attends all career program advisory committee meetings to expand business partner participation and support.

Provides program support for student certification testing in all programs.

Coordinates the General Advisory Committee meetings each semester.

Maintains the general neatness and attractiveness of the classroom, office, and other instructional areas.

Maintains own regular and prompt attendance.

Maintains appropriate appearance, including wearing logo wear when representing WCC.

Promotes good public relations for WCC and the school district.

Travels throughout the WCC district to monitor students on the job and establish community partnerships.

Maintains accurate records and submits all required paperwork to the office in a timely manner.

Establishes early contact and maintains consistent contact with parents/guardians to praise students and seek support and assistance as needed.

Demonstrates content expertise and maintains currency in the area.

Possesses both the willingness and the ability to share expertise with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders in a manner that is engaging and effective.

Engages in continued professional growth, academic engagement, and/or creative development.

Demonstrates both the willingness and the ability to embrace technology within the career center environment.

Engages in professional behavior and participates actively in teamwork while respecting the diversity of values, opinions, and backgrounds both inside and outside the classroom environment.

Remains free of any alcohol or non-prescription controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout employment in the school corporation.

Completes effectively other job duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise students both at school and job sites.

Qualification Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree, teaching license, and teaching experience are preferred.

Travel:

The facilitator will travel throughout the WCC district to monitor students at job sites, attend

meetings, and visit companies and organizations to establish and further partnerships. Corporation

vehicles may be used when available. In other situations, facilitator must provide own reliable

transportation. Mileage reimbursement shall be that approved by Fayette County School

Corporation.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, and technology journals.

Ability to write and/or complete routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present

information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to apply basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division as

required in the Work-Based Learning curriculum.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Ability to operate personal computer and related software. Ability to communicate clearly and

concisely both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with

students, staff, and the school community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district

requirements and school board policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently sit, stand, and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and reach forward and above the head. The employee will frequently push, pull, or lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds such as boxes of books and computer equipment.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and ability to tell differences among colors.

The employee regularly interacts with students and staff, in addition to meeting multiple demands from several people. Work Environment:
