Alter & repair clothing for uniformed employees & other material as needed for the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP):
Measure & fit new & current employees for uniforms; Measure, mark, & cut unhemmed trousers to the proper inseam for uniformed employees;
Custom tailor uniforms & blouses; Remove &/or sew on service stars, chevrons, rocker patches, shoulder patches, etc.;
Conduct mass sizing efforts for new OSHP uniforms in order to complete large purchases from various vendors (i.e., Spiewak, Rocky, etc.);
Utilize Tailor Shop application to enter & update employee size charts, order clothing & other equipment as needed, etc.;
Oversee sewing room operational support for Cadet uniform readiness initiatives;
Oversee seamless transition of uniform & equipment needs for employee promotions;
Communicate with OSHP personnel in regards to general inquiries about sewing & Tailor Shop related services (i.e., appointment scheduling);
Evaluate & process returned uniforms & equipment;
Participate in efforts that uphold the accuracy & organization of merchandise;
Maintain organization of internal records for fittings;
Arrange uniform garments & award ribbons in display cases for presentation ceremonies;
Maintain inventory & submit order requests to supervisor for replacement requests of sewing room supplies & materials;
Ensure equipment used is maintained & in good working condition;
Perform other related job duties as assigned.
6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in tailoring & sewing.
