We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Natural Resources Administrator 1 (H2Ohio Rivers Program Administrator) within the Division of Water Resources, headquartered at Fountain Square main campus in Franklin county. Evaluates proposed water quality projects for scientific/technical accuracy and program fit. Scores projects and provides colleagues with vetted technical information about the projects. Interprets technical reports and information regarding stream quality metrics including macroinvertebrates, fish, mussels, stream habitat, water chemistry, algal communities, hydrology, ground/surface water interactions, and hydraulics.

Reads/interprets engineering documents, project descriptions, partner credentials, project budgets and timelines.

Makes recommendations to agency leadership regarding project quality.

Leads in tracking and monitoring projects progress with project partners.

Manages and tracks program progress including updating database of projects metrics, budget, and water quality benefit information. Creates regular reports of programs progress.

Provides administrative support for project partners and H2Ohio program managers including financial and budgeting guidance, contracts compliance, and program information.

Creates and presents information about the H2Ohio Rivers Program at professional conferences and public outreach events.

Starting hourly pay of $30.96/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 6.5 years of service, with an end salary of $44.11/hr.

48 mos. trg. or 48 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description; valid driver’s license.

-Or undergraduate major core program & 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position; valid driver’s license.

-Or completion of graduate major core program & 12 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description; valid driver’s license.

-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above. NOTE\: If assigned to work as Law Enforcement Officer, must also hold Ohio Peace Officers Training Council certificate. For positions assigned to perform law enforcement duties, applicants must successfully pass background check by appointing authority which includes polygraph, psychological & medical examination. Applicant must demonstrate physical fitness as outlined in department directive. Final applicant accepted for position will be required to submit to urinalysis to test for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicant with positive test result will not be offered employment per Section 123\:1-76-09 Ohio Administrative Code.
