UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

Charge Nurse assumes the responsibility for the human and fiscal resources available in order to provide quality, cost-effective patient centered care.

The Charge Nurse will possess and have the capabilities to perform all the major duties and critical tasks of a Registered Nurse.

The Charge Nurse will demonstrate honesty, integrity, respectfulness, discretion, responsibility and dependability.

Supports the mission and vision of the facility.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse program

Must possess and maintain a current RN license to practice in Texas

Must possess and maintain current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification

At least one (1) year RN experience in a clinic environment

Preferred Job Requirements:

Five (5) years RN experience

At least two (2) years RN experience as a charge nurse or supervisor

Specialty certification, such as Ambulatory Care Nurse, preferred at hire and preferred within 12 months of eligibility
