The Hampton Inn Costa Mesa is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of hotel facilities by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining a safe and functional environment for both guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventative Maintenance:
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance of the hotel's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC units, elevators, and lighting systems.
Repairs:
Address maintenance requests and repairs in a timely manner, including guest room and public area issues such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry problems.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all equipment is operating efficiently and safely, adhering to Hilton’s safety standards and local building codes. Maintain records of maintenance work and compliance with safety regulations.
Emergency Support:
Respond to emergencies such as power outages, plumbing issues, and other urgent maintenance situations to minimize downtime and maintain hotel operations.
Guest Service:
Provide excellent service when interacting with guests. Address maintenance concerns promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
Inventory Management:
Manage and track parts, tools, and supplies for the maintenance department, ensuring inventory levels are maintained.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments such as Housekeeping and Front Desk to resolve maintenance issues that may affect guest satisfaction.
General Maintenance:
Perform basic carpentry, painting, and repairs of hotel fixtures and equipment. Assist with upkeep of the exterior of the property, including landscaping and parking lot maintenance.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in hotel or commercial building maintenance. HVAC, electrical, and plumbing certifications are a plus.
Skills:
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Proficiency with power tools and general maintenance equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms.
Must be able to stand, walk, and work in various conditions for extended periods.
Availability:
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as well as be on call for emergencies.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Vocational training or certification in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems is highly desirable.
