Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the Design Supervisor, the Graphic Designer is responsible for developing engaging layouts and sketches for ad review meetings, researching design trends, mentoring production artists, and collaborating with merchandising partners to support strategic planning for mass print and collateral materials. The Graphic Designer also works closely with external creative agencies, providing photo and layout art direction that aligns with the vision of the advance planning team. In some cases, they may also contribute merchandising expertise during early-stage planning.Key Responsibilities:
Design high-quality, visually appealing, and technically accurate printed ads (including ROP, tabs, brochures, signage, and catalogues) within assigned product categories, using established templates.
Research trends in the home improvement and retail advertising industries to inform design direction.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of design trends and product categories to guide creative decision-making and deliver innovative visual solutions.
Organize and archive creative assets using electronic file management systems.
Ensure that all print materials are aligned with the creative direction from leadership and maintain visual consistency across product lines and brands.
Adapt to advancements in design software and related technologies to ensure industry-leading execution and quality.
Execute projects efficiently under tight production deadlines.
Mentor and support production artists to uphold quality and consistency in deliverables.
Collaborate with merchandising teams and external creative agencies to ensure strategic alignment and effective communication of brand messages.
Provide input and expertise to the advance planning team, particularly from a merchandising perspective.
