Engineering Manager
We are currently seeking a seasoned engineering manager to provide immediate leadership in the areas of resource planning, scheduling, recruiting, and staff development.
Longer term goals for this position include providing strategic leadership in the areas of product road maps, technology development, product development, and the nurturing of a high-performance work culture.
Essential Functions
Lead the team in formulating project plans, cost estimates, test plans, and specifications.
Establish and maintain project schedules to assure timely, effective, and within-budget completion of approved projects.
Review designs for feasibility, accuracy, and technical soundness. Identify and mediate technical disagreements to arrive at the best overall solution considering cost, schedule attainment, and product quality.
Analyze resource requirements and identify constraints which may impact project goals.
Take ownership of the recruiting process, working closely with HR and outside recruiters to meet staffing goals.
Train new employees on department SOP’s, DOP’s and other content that will affect their responsibilities and performance.
Administer personnel functions, including performance management, hiring, and mentoring of engineers and support personnel.
Monitor engineering processes and recommend improvements to processes and infrastructure to improve organizational efficiency
Assure proper preparation of documentation as required per project plans including engineering drawings, test plans, manufacturing instructions, design verification and validation, engineering change notices, artwork and other supporting engineering documents.
Monitor the interface between product development and supply chain, manufacturing, and quality assurance to facilitate the effective introduction of new products into production.
Assist in generating annual department budget and objectives.
Maintain basic knowledge of competitive technologies.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of ten years’ experience and five years of relevant engineering leadership required
Previous experience designing and building instrumentation products a plus.

Collaborative work style and ability to work in a team to achieve goals.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
Minimal travel is required. Some international travel is possible.
