Full-time Health and Safety Assistant - Sigourney and Oskaloosa

First Resources of Sigourney and Oskaloosa is growing and we are searching for a dedicated Full-time Health and Safety Assistant.

The ideal candidate would be one that has prior experience as a DSP or similar position, be detail oriented, be willing to travel, and be able to manage their time effectively.

Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for assisting with the overall safety of HCBS residential services to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant environment for staff and individuals. Assist with training new staff at specific site locations on safety protocols; ensuring all medications/refills are secured, and individuals' needs are met.

Requirements:

Prefers a candidate with a least an Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field.

At least two (2) years' experience working with basic knowledge of Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) programs; Department of Inspections and Appeals (DIA) requirements, specific to Adult Day Care services.

Must possess basic knowledge of computers and computer-based programs.

Prior medical/nursing experience preferred.

Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds without restrictions.

Successfully complete the established medication administration training and pass medications accordingly.

Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within the initial 30 days of employment, and actively maintain certification throughout employment.

Must have valid driver's license and personal auto insurance as required by the State of Iowa and be insurable under the company's insurance.
