Overview

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Structural Welders for projects located in the Newport News, VA area. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is up to $45/hour based on experience plus $120/day per diem for travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Job Scope:

Multipass: All position fillet and butt welds using the following processes: SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding) and GMAWP (Pulse Arc Welding)

Heating with Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch

Air Carbon Arc Gouging

Other tasks assigned

Responsibilities

Must be able to pass a weld test

Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry

Minimum of 4+ years of experience

Must have NNS or Naval Shipyard experience

Experience working in a physically demanding environment shipboard sub-assemblies ladders staging etc
