The Department of Astronomy within the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University seeks two Research Aides to work on the All-Sky Automated Survey for Supernovae (ASAS-SN). ASAS-SN has 20 telescopes deployed around the globe, which take around 6,000 electronic images of the sky every night. Duties will include assisting with daily quality control of data obtained by 20 ASAS-SN telescopes to visually inspect data images for quality control; helping release of data from confirmed ASAS-SN discoveries to the public; assisting shared duty of response to public queries concerning ASAS-SN Sky Patrol data.

Minimum Education Required

High school diploma or Associate Degree

Additional Education Desired

Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy or related field.

The pay range for this job profile is $15.00 - $19.71/ hour. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
