Qualifications:

High school degree or equivalent preferred

Valid Driver's license

CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days

Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with psychiatric, dual diagnoses, and geriatric patients preferred

Must have strong clinical assessment skills

With proper credentials, Coordinator may be required to complete vitals check on patients

What you will do in this role:

The Intake Coordinator is responsible for working with internal and external customers to identify

patients appropriate for admissions to the Behavioral Health Unit. The coordinator will assess walkins

by completing an assessment to ensure their referral to the service or resource to best address

those needs. Coordinator will answer calls and complete a referral inquiry form on every call

encouraging patients to come in as soon as possible for the patient’s safety. The coordinator will assist

in scheduling initial assessments on patients seeking treatment of psychiatric or emotional disorders

as well as dual diagnosis. After assessing the coordinator will confer with the psychiatrist who will

determine the appropriate level of care. Coordinators will also review clinicals received by referral

sources. The assessor will call the provider and discuss the clinicals and again the provider will

determine the level of care based on the coordinator’s objective review. May be required to work

flexible hours and overtime.
