Grey Matters Defense Solutions is seeking a talented and dedicated Senior Software Developer

About the job:

Seeking to provide multi-INT tipping and cueing to increase precision and accuracy of Automatic Target Recognition model detections while decreasing the overall image processing time. In addition, we're looking to push site change detection to a DoD/IC Object Management system to assist analyst workflows focus on the reviewing imagery of the most importance. Lastly, we are seeking to integrate an auto-point mensuration capability to provide target location error to object detections. The end goal is to provide output capabilities that meet tactical Air Force user requirements.

It will involve software development in several languages along with being your own DevOps support for the system being built and deployed. Additionally, it will require comfortability in researching and interfacing with other entities via RESTful API, ActiveMQ, etc. This work will be within a small team that is working to build, maintain and deploy a microservices based system. It also will require familiarity with a number of COTS tools and development environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform not only as a Software Developer, but also as a DevOps

Build, maintain and deploy microservices into various containerized environments

Migrate from Docker deployed system to a Cloud hosted Kubernetes cluster environment About you:

Looking for candidates who have at least eight years (8) professional experience developing in the following:

Languages: Java

Atlassian Tools: Jira, Confluence

OSs: Linux and Windows

Containerization:

Docker: A solid understanding of building and running

Docker-compose: A solid understanding

Kubernetes: Deployment to and running within a hosted cluster

Databases:

Familiarization with CRUD operations for both SQL and Non-SQL DBs

Software design solutions that interface with the various DB types

RESTful API: Development and usage

Message/Event Streaming Platforms:

ActiveMQ

Preferred Skills:

Grafana: Familiarity with the visualization tool

Databases:

GeoServer

InfluxDB

MongoDB

SQLite

Additional Message/Event Streaming Platforms:

Apache Kafka

Frameworks:

Spring Boot Framework for Java

NestJS for Node.js

Flask and FastAPI for Python

Containerization:

Helm Charts: Usage and creating of charts for system deployment

Other tools: Harbor, ArgoCD, Jenkins, Rancher

Salary Range: $155,000 - 210,000
