Job Summary
Shambaugh & Son L.P. is looking for an RPG Developer. In this role you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our current IBM database.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and support programs written in carious version of IBM RPG (RPGIII, RGP IV, RPG-ILE and Free) and CL
Support IBM I (AS400) software applications developer in the past years with noticeable changes in the programming technology
Exhibit a real understanding of quality assurance and the ability to create and execute formal test plans
Work with other departments, remote users and vendors to execute a planned implementation
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
Focus on content delivery
Will be involved in all phases of a project, from developing requirements, design and coding to project delivery
Other duties as required
Qualifications
Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Computer Science or related computer field preferred
Strong knowledge of RPG Programming
7+ years of experience and working familiarity with the IBM I (AS400) and a willingness to work on older technology
Proficiency in general business tools like Microsoft Office, Visio
An understanding of job costing, field service and accounting is preferred
Ability to understand business requirements and tr5anslate them into technical requirements
Familiarity with continuous integration
Knowledge of DDS and DDL
Knowledge of Rational Developer (RDi) and task tracking software, such as jira
Ability to use tools like Query/400, SEQUEL
Must be able to work as part of a small team and have good communication skills
This position will be part of the small team responsible for implementing technology
Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
