Job Description
Required Skills:
• Must have previous experience with Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education SAFA Reporting.
• Experience with database development on large data driven projects at a State government or equivalent organizational level.
• Must have experience with DESE database structure.
• 5+ year''s experience with Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office.
• 5+ year''s experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL, stored procedures, ETL, SSIS, and SSRS.
• 5+ year''s experience with Visual Studio 201-2022
• 5+ year''s experience with Azure DevOps (ADO)
The goal of this projects is to perform tasks pertaining to database development for the project. This project team is tasked with producing the clients Annual Report Card and Annual Performance Reports (APRs) for the SAFA which provides Local Education Agency (LEA) and building-level data through Missouri Comprehensive Data System (MCDS) portal as well as reports for federal reporting. The SAFA project is a huge data driven project that takes a lot of time and effort to complete by the requested deadline.
The scope of the SAFA project will include performing the development, maintenance, and architecture for ETLs, stored procedures, SSIS packages and job reviews, for jobs/tasks communicating and working across multiple databases and environments. Preparing all the data for all of our supporting applications and mandatory reporting needs driven by federal requirements, state statutes, and departmental and organizational policies.
Duties:
• Develop, rewrite, and maintain ETLs, stored procedures, SSIS packages, SSRS Reports.
• Perform job reviews for jobs/tasks.
• Communicating and working across multiple databases and environments.
• All work will be prioritized by the Client Application Development Manager or Client Project Manager.
• Research and respond to Client business staff when they need issues or work items researched based on their testing activities.
• Be involved in meetings with Client business staff for various assignments, issues, or clarifications.
• Research and resolve assignments or issues reported.
• Ensure the flow of work by effectively managing the work items in ADO thereby ensuring the resolution of issues reported are not delayed beyond the reasonable due dates set during creation.
• Investigate/Research questions and problems from the business unit.
• Monitor and regularly update ADO work items used to report issues and request enhancements.
• Handle errors received from jobs.
• Analyze issues reported.
• Maintain daily batch support.
• Coordinate scheduling and execution of batch jobs.
• Create/modify programs ETLs and stored procedures.
• Maintain batch job flow charts using VISIO.
• Provide batch support for operational amends and extracts.
• Create SQL queries to validate report numbers are correct.
• Request database changes.
