This position is based in our South Beloit, Illinois facility.
This role is responsible for applying knowledge of manufacturing methods, engineering theory, and problem-solving techniques to improve production efficiencies, material flow, equipment performance, and related processes. The successful candidate will work closely with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to improve safety, quality, productivity and reduce costs.
The position will also be responsible for helping to improve operating equipment performance and related processes and will work in conjunction with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering departments to improve safety, quality, productivity, and reduce costs. Additional responsibilities include making a high quality product to exceed our customer expectations and will initiate recommendations to resolve problems and continuously improve Quality Management, participate in improving processes, develop our products, and enjoy our culture.
Other responsibilities and include:
Assembly of mechanical systems to include robot end of arm tooling, electrical panels, and other custom machinery components.
Assists with day-to-day operations, follow up with vendors, perform part inventory etc.
Build and/or adapt prototypes and equipment based on data sheets and instructions from engineering department personnel.
Assists in tooling design, debug/testing, panel layout, and troubleshooting.

Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods to avoid re-occurrences.

Robotic or industrial machinery experience.
Strong communication skills and ability to interact with a team
Focus is on cycle time improvement
Introduce new equipment, methods, and processes to improve existing operations.
Design testing methods and calculate process capabilities to establish standards or validate process requirements.
Design, develop, and implement control systems to improve production cycle times, product quality, equipment performance, down-time reductions, and process automation.
Utilize statistical data to optimize and improve performance.
Analyze process performance data and identify trends, runs to reduce process variation.

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related engineering field
1 year of experience in engineering
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and computer aided design (CAD)
Physical Demands
Not climate controlled industrial manufacturing environment with temperatures that may exceed 85 degrees.
Sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling or reaching overhead required.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 49 pounds alone and more than 50 pounds with assistance.
May require stationary position with intermediate walking throughout the shift on the plant floor.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus to watch video monitors.
