Process Engineer

Our leading Chemical Manufacturing client is looking for a Direct Hire Process Engineer in Bay City, TX (Onsite 4/10s). You will be responsible for designing improvements to production capacity, efficiency, process safety, safety, and environmental performance, involving complex designs for major changes or new units with impact of up to three million dollars.

Responsibilities

Work with support teams to monitor unit operations, correct problems, and assist in improvements, usually for special problems or projects.

Provide process support for Environmental activities, for major designs and permitting requirements. Performs calculations for environmental incidents and Root Cause Analyses.

Involved in Process Safety Reviews and Process Hazard Analyses on new installations and modifications to existing operations. Review completed Process Hazard Analyses.

Communicate and document process engineering activities in unit support, design, plant engineering, environmental, and process safety support activities, with little or no review required.

Support process units for advanced troubleshooting.

Support site Environmental, Health and Safety activities.

Required Experience:

Minimum of a BS in Chemical Engineering

Two to three years of relevant experience

Excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities with strong communication and writing skills

Advanced Microsoft Office Excel Skills

Process Simulation Software Skills (ChemCAD or Aspen Plus and HTRI)

Desired Experience:

Five years’ operations or technical experience at the plant

Certification or interest in seeking certification as a Six Sigma Black/Green Belt
