The Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on Controller to lead financial operations across both manufacturing sites. This individual will oversee financial reporting, cost analysis, and compliance efforts while improving processes and supporting executive leadership in a fast-paced, scaling environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate GAAP-compliant reporting.

Oversee AR/AP, general ledger, fixed assets, and cash management.

Prepare internal and external financial statements and dashboards.

Cost Accounting & Inventory Control

Manage inventory accounting across multiple sites.

Lead standard costing, variance analysis, and cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting.

Partner with production teams to evaluate profitability and manufacturing efficiency.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Support the CFO with budgeting and forecasting.

Internal Controls & Compliance

Design and implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets.

Support financial audits and tax filings in partnership with external CPA firms.

Ensure compliance with California-specific tax, payroll, and labor laws.

Process & Leadership

Mentor and lead a small accounting team.

Drive continuous improvement of financial systems and workflows.

Serve as a financial business partner to cross-functional leaders.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar leadership role.

Deep knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

Experience in manufacturing (aerospace a plus but not required).

ERP system proficiency (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor).

Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities.

Proven ability to operate across multiple facilities and departments.

Preferred:

CPA or CMA certification.

Background with PE-owned or multi-entity businesses.

Familiarity with California regulatory compliance.

Salary Range: $150,000 – $175,000 annually

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and business needs. This position may also be eligible for a performance-based bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
