GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Assistant Account Manager is an entry-level position designed for individuals with a few years of prior insurance experience or high administrative support experience. This role focuses on efficiently handling foundational tasks of account management while supporting the team with various administrative and clerical duties.
The Assistant Account Manager will receive comprehensive training and have the opportunity to develop their skills, progressing through structured stages toward roles such as Associate, Specialist, or Account Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Process routine account-related tasks, including data entry, document preparation, and policy updates.
· Assist in maintaining accurate client records and files in the Agency Management System (AMS.)
· Communicate with internal team members and insurance carriers to ensure timely processing of documentation and client requests.
· Provide clerical support, including scanning, filing, and handling correspondence as needed.
· Respond to client inquiries with professionalism and escalate more complex matters to Account Managers.
· Support Account Managers with special projects or tasks as assigned.
· Participate in training programs to develop insurance knowledge, customer service skills, and account management capabilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, AMS and/or related software.
· Ability to manage account related projects.
· Ability to manage duties and meet deadlines with limited supervision
· Proven ability to accurately maintains customer files in agency management system
· Ability to complete online quotes with accuracy.
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; Carrier interactions are professional and productive.
· Proficient in typing and data entry

EDUCATION, LICENSES AND EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum of two years’ clerical or administrative experience.
· Customer service experience preferred.
· Proficient with Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite required.
· Commercial P&C Middle Market independent insurance agency experience preferred.
· High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
· Must have a valid Oklahoma P&C Insurance License.
· Experience with AMS360, ImageRight and Indio preferred
· Previous experience using insurance company websites to rate polices and process changes a plus.
· Team Lead or Supervisory experience preferred
· Valid Driver’s License.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
· Must be able to work from a sitting position for extended periods of time.
· Must be willing and able to work in front of a computer monitor for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to work on a standard computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to work in a cubical environment during the workday with limited or no distractions.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
· This role will generally be performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
