Carlsbad Beach Hotel Properties is seeking a Social Media & Content Coordinator for our stunning beachfront hotel. This is a part-time-Hybrid position (10-15 hours per week).

Our hotels, totaling under 100 rooms, boast oceanfront views and loyal, highly satisfied clientele. Here, we urge our employees to slow down and take care of our guests and each other. This position will execute the day-to-day community coordination of all social channels for Beach Terrace and Best Western Plus, Beach View Lodge Hotels, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Pinterest, and the company’s social media strategy to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts, and increase sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Content Creation:

Capture weekly on-site photos and videos in real time to showcase properties across social media platforms.

Edit photos as necessary to adhere to brand photography standards.

Create and edit Reels and other short-form videos.

Utilize emerging tools (AI) to create content.

Social Media Management:

Work with Area Director of Marketing to establish a social media strategy that grows followers, increases engagement, and generates brand awareness across all social channels.

Compose posts curated with on-brand imagery and video, thoughtful copy, compelling CTAs.

Measure social success and track performance through monthly reporting.

Establish consistent posting rhythm and ensure social media content is accessible for those with disabilities.

Curate and compose seasonal social media content calendar to ensure brand consistency through tone, voice, imagery.

Foster online community growth by engaging our audiences, actively responding to questions, comments, DMs, and driving conversations with appropriate brand voice across channels, on both paid and organic campaigns.

Ensure social profiles and links are accurate, fresh and utilize UTM tracking.

Understand brand requirements, design standards and seasonal promotions so that all published content is on-brand and satisfies brand style requirements.

Maintain active “social listening” to monitor and report on social sentiments related to our brand, competitors, and market.

Monitor, respond to, and report on social sentiments across online review platforms such as TripAdvisor, Google My Business, OTAs, Medallia, and our own Revinate revenue platform.

Update monthly reporting template on social campaign performance, brand reputation, and critical KPIs.

Develop and source user generated content by reaching out to fans, guests, local industry partners, etc.

Marketing Support:

Monitor travel/hospitality industry news for latest “best practices”, trends, technology, social opportunities, analytics/tracking news, and strategies.

Support the execution of hotel brand strategy including unique brand storytelling, content creation, social content calendars, the implementation of branding guidelines/style guide, etc.

Marketing support as necessary, including but not limited to: website updates and management, email marketing support, third party website updates, OTA updates, review responses, and more.

Other website and marketing support as needed.

Skills/Experience:

Ability to work on-site in Carlsbad, CA a minimum of (1) day per week.

One (1) year experience in content management, content creation, and social media coordination.

Experience with AI tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, Runway, or similar platforms.

Possess expert knowledge of creative requirements for each social media platform and content format (Stories, Reels, Newsfeed, video, etc.).

Ability to measure key social metrics, understand web analytics/tracking, and report data insights to drive web performance, online brand growth, content strategy, and audience targeting opportunities.

Outstanding organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Critical thinker with strong problem-solving and research proficiencies.

Creative mind with superb written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Job Skills and Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing/communications, journalism, public relations or related area of study.

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Lightroom and InDesign, or Canva.

Experience with paid social media campaigns and campaign management.

This is a part-time position, estimating 10-15 hours per week. Flexible, hybrid schedule available based on business needs. Occasional nights or weekends may be required.
