Brooklyn Fiber is an independent, Internet Service Provider offering high-performance internet access across New York City. We design, deploy, and manage carrier-grade hybrid networks using infrastructure, delivering symmetrical gigabit service to multi-dwelling units, businesses, and event spaces.
We are seeking a Network Operations Administrator with the technical acumen to manage our core wireless infrastructure and the leadership skills to coordinate installation and field service crews. This is a role spanning both NOC-level responsibilities and field operations management.
What You’ll Do
Network & Infrastructure Operations
Structured cabling, rooftop RF planning, and fiber handoffs.
Monitor, manage, and optimize point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless links (5 GHz, 60 GHz, licensed microwave).
Design and implement L2/L3 network topologies, including VLANs, BGP, OSPF, and PPPoE where applicable.
Maintain firmware lifecycle and security patching across all deployed network devices.
Assist with network expansion planning—site surveys, RF modeling, capacity analysis.
Field & Crew Operations
Coordinate and supervise install and service crews on daily field assignments.
Ensure job tickets are fulfilled efficiently and meet deployment standards (signal validation, grounding, equipment placement).
Own the dispatch pipeline: provisioning, scheduling, QA, and exception handling.
Enforce safety protocols and ensure proper documentation from every field operation.
Train field techs on device installs, troubleshooting, and best practices.
What You Bring
3–5+ years operating wireless ISP infrastructure, preferably in a fixed wireless or WISP environment.
Expert-level proficiency with at least two of the following:
Ubiquiti (AirOS, EdgeOS)
Siklu (EtherHaul)
MikroTik (RouterOS with scripting, firewalling, routing)
Deep understanding of IP networking: subnetting, VLANs, bridging, routing, QoS, NAT.
Experience managing install/maintenance crews or leading field teams in a network deployment context.
Comfortable with climbing/tower work, rooftops, and performing site-level diagnostics when needed.
Solid Linux CLI skills; ability to write or modify scripts for automation (Bash, Python a plus).Bonus Skills
Hands-on knowledge of CRM or field dispatch systems (e.g., Sonar, Salesforce Field Service, Zoho).
