Sterling File Transfer Lead

PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Sterling File Transfer Lead on a Direct Hire basis. This role is based out of Gulfport, MS (or possibly New Orleans, LA).

Summary

This position leads the engineering and operations of managed file transfer (MFT) systems, focusing on IBM Sterling tools. The role includes designing integration solutions, supporting business file transmission needs, and ensuring secure, efficient, and compliant data exchange. The individual will provide technical leadership and mentorship while managing complex systems and contributing to strategic planning initiatives.

Responsibilities

Design and implement integration solutions using IBM Sterling File Gateway, Integrator, Secure Proxy, and Control Center.

Configure file transmission solutions and recommend transfer methods aligned with business needs.

Provide technical support and mentorship to team members to enhance knowledge sharing and performance.

Act as a consultant on complex projects, advising on systems integration, enhancements, and business process improvement.

Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, conduct system maintenance, and deliver enhancements or fixes.

Review and evaluate technology developments to support long-term planning and innovation.

Lead internal consultations to define automation needs and systems requirements for data workflows and controls.

Supervise and support junior programmers and analysts, contributing to code revisions and performance improvements.

Participate in disaster recovery planning for supported applications.

Required Skills

8+ years of experience in programming and systems analysis.

Hands-on experience with IBM Sterling MFT suite including File Gateway, Integrator, Secure Proxy, and Control Center.

Proficient in SQL Expressions, including creating and modifying queries to interact with database tables.

Experience leading systems projects and mentoring technical teams.

Familiarity with software development tools and systems including accounting, HR, payroll, and project management platforms.

Knowledge of banking operations and compliance standards is preferred.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field required.

Prior supervisory experience preferred; certifications and knowledge of banking software a plus.
