Lead Automation Engineer

BioTalent are partnered with a large pharmaceutical company to search for a Lead Automation Engineer specialised in DeltaV.

As the Lead Automation Engineering, you will be responsible for leading automation projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving operational excellence in process automation and validation.

Responsibilities:

Lead automation projects from initiation to handover, ensuring timely delivery within budget.

Develop functional specifications for complex units and oversee DCS application coding, maintaining consistency with design standards.

Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve control system issues.

Support commissioning and qualification efforts, ensuring systems align with user requirements and regulatory standards.

Provide mentorship and training to junior colleagues, fostering continuous development.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, including GAMP, cGMP, 21CFR, GDP, and regulatory frameworks.

Drive process automation innovation with ISA S88 Batch expertise

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Computer Science, or Bio-Process Engineering.

8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting manufacturing automation solutions.

6+ years of strong Emerson DeltaV Batch experience, including DeltaV hardware knowledge.

Strong understanding of Process Automation System Architecture and ISA S88.

Expertise in automation qualification protocols (FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ).

Experience in project management, including coordinating teams, budgets, and timelines.

Leadership skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

Knowledge of PCSD library and pharma lifecycle processes is a plus.
