This position is a hybrid position (4 days in the office and 1 remote a week) out of our Alvarado, TX or Sioux City, IA office.

Scope of Responsibility: The DBA will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our organization's databases both on premise and cloud. This role also involves creating efficient database structures, optimizing performance, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Essential Duties:

Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain database management systems.

Monitor and tune database performance to ensure efficient query execution and minimal downtime.

Implement and maintain security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and backup/recovery procedures.

Work with the system team on resource allocation and industry best practices for backup and recovery of all databases.

Design and implement database schemas, tables, and relationships to support business applications.

Diagnose and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data corruption.

Work with developers, analysts, and other IT staff to support application development and reporting needs.

Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.

Use change management to document all updates/upgrades and database changes.

Document and test for disaster recovery scenarios.

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years hands on MSSQL DBA experience.

Experience with Cloud database infrastructure is required. Experience with Azure SQL/Google/AWS.

Experience with Epicor ERP is preferred but not required.

Experience with ERP systems required.

Experience with High availability / Disaster Recovery designs for MSSQL

Physical Requirements:

Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources

Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed.

Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching. Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials.

Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual.
