Petroleum Data Engineer
Compensation: $90,000 - $150,000 DOE + 20% Bonus + Full Benefits + Training + Long-Term Progression

This company specializes in underwriting and evaluating mineral interests. You'll work directly with a small, high-performing team using tools like SQL, Python, ComboCurve, and Enverus to support production forecasting, economic analysis, and decision-making.
In this role, you’ll build automation tools, analyze large datasets, and help drive underwriting and asset management decisions. You’ll gain end-to-end visibility on energy investments, combining technical engineering knowledge with financial acumen.
This role would suit a recent petroleum engineering or computer science graduate with internship or early career experience or a data-focused reservoir engineer/tech looking for more ownership, technical variety, and advancement potential.
The Role:
Analyze upstream energy datasets and support mineral interest underwriting
Create advanced Excel reports (pivot tables, VBA) and GIS-based visualizations
Perform production forecasting and economics in ComboCurve
The Candidate:
Bachelor’s in Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
Experience in oil & gas, ideally with operators or non-ops
Experience with Python, ComboCurve, SQL
Strong analytical mindset with a self-starter attitude
