Role Overview: MatrixCloud seeks a passionate and talented Founding Data & AI Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As an essential member of our core engineering group, you'll significantly contribute to the design, construction, and scalability of our AI-native data platforms and pipelines. You'll directly influence strategic technical decisions, key implementations, and the evolution of our core technology offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

Architect, build, and manage large-scale data ingestion pipelines using modern standards and frameworks, particularly OpenTelemetry (OTEL).

Lead the creation of robust, scalable data pipelines optimized for streaming and batch processing.

Design and implement sophisticated feature engineering processes, including extraction, transformation, and validation to empower advanced machine learning models.

Innovate in defining, developing, and refining Enterprise Data Models to support advanced analytics, observability, and AI initiatives.

Oversee and drive data labeling strategies and processes, ensuring data quality and integrity for high-performance ML/AI use cases.

Develop, test, and deploy scalable ML/AI models that seamlessly integrate into customer environments.

Serve as an internal and external thought leader, promoting best practices in data engineering, ML operations, and AI-driven observability.

Your Story: You’ve spent the last 5 years crafting robust, scalable data ingestion pipelines, efficiently handling petabytes of data within hybrid cloud environments. Your deep expertise in OpenTelemetry (OTEL), distributed tracing, and observability frameworks has consistently provided unmatched visibility into complex, high-performance systems.

Over the past 2 years, your mastery in feature engineering, data labeling, and comprehensive ML lifecycle management has enabled organizations to transform raw data into strategic insights and actionable intelligence. With extensive hands-on experience building and maintaining enterprise-grade data pipelines using technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Airflow, or similar, you've consistently delivered reliable and scalable data operations.

You've adeptly architected sophisticated Enterprise Data Models, seamlessly integrating diverse data sources through both ETL and ELT methodologies. Your proficiency with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP, coupled with Kubernetes-based deployments, ensures solutions are efficient, resilient, and scalable.

With over 5 years of exceptional coding skills in Python and SQL, along with familiarity with frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, you skillfully tackle complex challenges with precision and creativity. Your entrepreneurial spirit and analytical mindset thrive in dynamic startup environments, positioning you as a key innovator driving technological success.
