Embedded Systems Engineer

I am currently looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer for a client within the defense industry located in Austin, TX.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in embedded system design. Proficiency in using MATLAB/SIMULINK for system modeling is essential. Experience with DSP/FPGA technology and power electronics is crucial, along with the ability to integrate various sensors into control systems.

Responsibilities:

Electrical Design and Development: Develop embedded control systems for various product lines.

System and Circuit Performance Modeling: Utilize and develop models using MATLAB/SIMULINK or equivalent tools.

Firmware Development: Collaborate with the hardware engineering team to develop firmware for:

Motor control (BLDC, FOC) using DSP/FPGA technology.

Power electronics for motor control, rectification, DC-DC conversion, and distribution.

Integration of various sensors used in closed-loop control systems (resolver, VDT, pressure, current, HED).

Test Bench Design: Design and develop test benches to evaluate electronic hardware modules.

Software Development: Create software for design validation testing and production testing.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university is required. A Master’s Degree in Engineering is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in embedded system design.
