Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Engineer with deep knowledge of Workday Core HCM, integrations, and familiarity with Payroll and Compensation modules. This hybrid position, with occasional onsite presence, involves comprehensive validation of configurations, business processes, and integrations across various Workday components. The role demands a detail-oriented professional committed to delivering quality solutions through structured testing and close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Conduct testing efforts focused on Workday Core HCM, integrations, and support for Payroll and Compensation features.
• Create and maintain test plans and test scripts for Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and post-production validation.
• Work alongside functional teams to interpret business needs and convert them into robust test cases.
• Perform validation of EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder), both inbound and outbound integrations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
• Assist in generating test data, executing bulk uploads, and reviewing Workday HCM configurations.
• Identify, document, and retest issues using standard QA practices and tools.
• Collaborate with Payroll and Compensation stakeholders to ensure testing covers all cross-functional dependencies.
• Support bi-annual Workday updates and other enhancement testing cycles.
• Deliver clear and concise test results, maintain test artifacts, and contribute to process improvements within the QA function.
Required Experience & Skills:
• Minimum of 6 years in testing Workday Core HCM.
• Solid grasp of integrations, EIB functionality, and business process setup within Workday.
• Hands-on experience testing Payroll and Compensation modules.
• Strong capabilities in executing tests, managing the defect lifecycle, and applying various validation methods.
• Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, SmartSheet, or comparable QA management platforms.
• Excellent communication abilities, along with strong documentation and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• ISTQB or an equivalent QA certification.
• Workday certifications in Core HCM, Integrations, or Compensation are a plus.
• Experience working in Agile methodologies and global delivery environments.
