Civil 3D Drafter - Residential Land Development

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Residential Land Development CAD Drafter to join our clients team in Springfield, MO. This role focuses on creating detailed drafting and design work for single-family, multi-family, and mixed-use residential developments. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience designing site plans that optimize lot layouts, roadways, stormwater drainage, and utility connections for residential communities.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting and Design
Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) to develop technical drawings for residential subdivisions, apartment complexes, and mixed-use communities.
Prepare detailed designs for grading, road alignments, sidewalks, water and sewer systems, and stormwater drainage solutions.
Integrate topographic and survey data to ensure efficient lot layouts and infrastructure planning.
Interpret developer plans and municipal codes to create accurate technical drawings for residential projects.Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all drafted plans meet local subdivision regulations, zoning ordinances, and environmental guidelines.
Stay informed on stormwater management best practices and community infrastructure requirements for residential areas.Collaboration
Work closely with engineers, surveyors, and land planners to optimize residential site layouts.
Participate in developer and municipality meetings to understand project scope, client expectations, and permitting requirements.Quality Assurance & Documentation
Conduct thorough reviews of residential community plans to ensure accuracy.
Maintain organized records of all drafted plans, including revision logs and compliance documentation.Qualifications
5+ years of experience in CAD drafting for residential land development projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
Technical school degree or coursework in civil engineering-related drafting preferred.
Strong understanding of lot grading, street layouts, and residential utility systems.
Ability to handle multiple projects while ensuring compliance with residential development codes.Benefits
