A Global Government Contracting Company is seeking a Cleared Linux System Administrator to join their team in Sunnyvale, CA!
**This role is 100% onsite and will be a 9/80 schedule. Secret clearance is required with the ability to obtain TS. Must also have current Sec+ Cert.
Preferred E2 and E3 levels (E2 - advanced degree and 12+ years experience or bachelors with 14+ years experience or equivalent. E3 - advanced degree and 7+ years experience or bachelors with 9+ years experience or equivalent)
Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain, and optimize Linux systems in physical, virtual, and containerized environments
Automate system provisioning and configuration using Ansible
Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
Ensure system hardening and compliance via STIG and SCAP tools
Manage and support NFS protocols and enterprise storage systems (e.G., NetApp)
Support virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM) and container orchestration (OpenShift/OpenStack)
Collaborate on network troubleshooting and perform basic network configurations
Apply security best practices, including SELinux policies and firewall configuration
Monitor system performance, respond to incidents, and proactively resolve issues
Create and maintain clear documentation for system configurations and procedures
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of Linux system administration experience
Strong experience with Ansible for infrastructure automation
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes-based container environments
Familiarity with OpenShift or similar enterprise container platforms
Experience with STIG/SCAP compliance tools and methodologies
Solid understanding of NFS and NetApp storage management
Working knowledge of virtualization (VMware, KVM)
Basic networking experience (DNS, routing, VLANs, firewalls)
Proficiency in scripting (Bash preferred)
Understanding of SELinux and firewalld for system security
Security certifications (Security+, CISSP, CEH)
Secret/Top Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
RHCSA or RHCE certification
Kubernetes or OpenShift certification (CKA, Red Hat OpenShift Admin, etc.)
NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA)
Exposure to CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
