Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Brake Press Operator for a temp-to-hire opportunity in St. Michael, MN. This role is with a respected, family-owned business known for treating employees fairly and fostering a collaborative, hardworking culture. Their manufacturing and fabrication shop is a state-of-the-art, air-conditioned facility, considered one of the nicest in the metro area. If you are experienced in metal fabrication and looking to grow with a team that values pride in craftsmanship, this is an excellent opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate brake press equipment to bend, form, and fabricate sheet metal components according to specifications.

Prepare work surfaces and materials as needed.

Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and production instructions.

Use measuring tools to ensure quality standards and product specifications are met.

Observe machine operation to detect defects or irregularities and make necessary adjustments.

Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.

Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety protocols.

Inspect finished products for accuracy and perform rework if required.

Qualifications:

Proven experience operating a brake press in a metal fabrication setting.

Thorough understanding of brake press controls and tooling setup.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions.

Skilled in using measurement tools (e.g., tape measures, calipers, angle finders).

Strong math skills including decimals and fractions.

Reliable with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Must have own tools.

Working Conditions:

Clean, climate-controlled, and modern shop environment.

Daytime 1st shift schedule.

Physical work including standing for long periods, bending, and lifting.
