Application Support Engineer

Feldspar & Flint is a NYC metro-based Recruiting firm dedicated to identifying and providing exceptional candidates to meet the specific needs of our clients.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Distributed Application Support Engineer and the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience in distributed application support, with a strong background in various operating systems, databases, cloud technologies, and container orchestration.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert support for distributed applications across Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems.

Manage and optimize databases including SQL/PLSQL, DB2, Oracle, and Snowflake.

Utilize cloud technologies such as AWS (S3, EC2, Lambda, SQS, IAM roles), Azure, OpenShift, RDS Aurora, and Postgres.

Implement and manage containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.

Use scheduling tools like CA AutoSys and Control-M to ensure efficient job scheduling and execution.

Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting processes for distributed, cloud, and mainframe environments.

Debug and resolve issues in system components within cloud and distributed environments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience).

Minimum of 6+ years of experience in distributed application support.

Proficiency in operating systems: Unix, Linux, Windows.

Strong knowledge of databases: SQL/PLSQL, DB2, Oracle, Snowflake.

Experience with cloud technologies: AWS (S3, EC2, Lambda, SQS, IAM roles), Azure, OpenShift, RDS Aurora, Postgres.

Expertise in containers and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.

Familiarity with scheduling tools: CA AutoSys, Control-M.

Hands-on experience with monitoring and alerting processes in distributed, cloud, and mainframe environments.

Proficiency in Informatica.
