Position Overview
We’re looking to add a Professional Engineer (PE) to our growing team to support the design, permitting, and construction of commercial and utility-scale solar PV systems. This position will focus on stamped electrical and structural design work, medium voltage interconnection engineering, and hands-on construction support. Ideal candidates will have a solid background in solar PV system design, medium voltage infrastructure, and code compliance—and must hold or be eligible for PE licensure in at least one of our active markets: Vermont, New York, New Hampshire, or Maine. This is a key role in ensuring design integrity across the full project lifecycle and will involve close coordination with internal teams (PM, Dev, Construction) and external partners (utilities, AHJs, & Contractors).Key Responsibilities
Design & Stamping
Provide stamped design packages for solar PV projects (electrical).
Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, IEEE, UL, and local building/electrical codes.
Maintain or pursue PE licensure in applicable states (VT, NY, NH, ME).
Medium Voltage Engineering
Engineer and review MV systems: transformers, switchgear, relays, and protection schemes.
Prepare interconnection packages and support utility coordination.
Ensure conformance with utility design specs, IEEE 1547, and relevant MV standards.
Construction Support
Provide field-engineering support during installation and commissioning.
Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and assist with redlines/as-builts.
Participate in QA/QC walkthroughs, testing, and troubleshooting.
Cross-Team Collaboration

Assist with permitting and technical documentation for interconnection and inspections.
Share best practices, maintain design templates, and contribute to continuous improvement.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Active PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months) in VT, NY, NH, or ME—or reciprocity-eligible via NCEES.
5+ years of experience in solar PV and medium voltage electrical systems.
Deep understanding of NEC (690, 705), NESC, UL, IEEE standards.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, PV design tools (Helioscope, PVSyst), and electrical modeling platforms.
Field or construction-phase engineering experience preferred.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with energy storage (ESS), SCADA/DAS integration, or microgrid systems.
Utility interconnection experience (ISO-NE or NYISO preferred).
Structural design knowledge for PV racking and support systems.
