About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Designer / Draftsman with expertise in Siemens NX and a deep understanding of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing detailed drawings and mechanical designs that are critical to the development of our advanced nuclear reactor systems. Mechanical aptitude is a plus. Engineering degree is not necessary.
Key Responsibilities
• Create and maintain precise 2D and 3D CAD drawings using Siemens NX.
• Develop technical drawings that comply with ASME Y14.5 standards, including detailed GD&T.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and cross-functional teams to transform concepts into manufacturable and testable designs.
• Maintain drawing packages through multiple design iterations and ensure design intent is accurately captured.
• Support the documentation and configuration management of all design materials.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to process and quality improvements.
Qualifications
• Proven experience as a mechanical designer or draftsman in a technical or engineering environment.
• Strong proficiency in Siemens NX drafting and modeling tools.
• Solid understanding and hands-on application of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
• Experience with mechanical component and assembly design.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality, accurate drawings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in the nuclear, aerospace, or energy sectors.
• Familiarity with PLM tools such as Teamcenter or similar systems.
• General knowledge of manufacturing techniques and how they influence design decisions.
• Experience supporting regulated design environments with high safety and quality standards.
