Job Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled CAD/CAM Designer to join our department. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and proficiency in CAM programing. Experience with Alpha CAM is considered a valuable asset.
In this role, your responsibilities will include completing CAD drawings and programs for CNC systems, collaborating with CNC operators to optimize CNC operations, tracking and ordering CNC bits, and ensuring CNC operations have the most efficient tools and programs. Additional duties include working with CNC operators to maintain bit sharpness, perform daily machine maintenance, ensure CNC systems produce according to CAD programs.
-Train CNC operators
-Prior CNC operators encouraged to apply
-Troubleshoot errors from CNC machines.
-Make drawings/prints for use on the shop floor.
-Create basic work instructions for CNC operators.
-Generate programs for twin-spindle twin-table CNC routers.
-Manage tooling and inventory.
-Basic to mid-level understanding of G and M codes
-Basic understanding of work coordinates and work offsets
-Develop, test, and improve workflows on both the office side, and on the shop floor
Stretch goals:
-Looking to expand the capabilities of the shop by taking on new projects and developing new processes (pre-hang, assembled doors)
-Basic knowledge of coding in any language, but VBA a big plus
-Use of/experience with right angle or fourth axis tooling
-Working with team on cosmetic designs and feasibility for manufacturing
The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work accurately under pressure. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with other departments are essential. A positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are also key requirements.
