Position Title:CMM Programmer / Quality Engineer

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Hexagon CMM Programmer / Quality Engineer to support QC equipment maintenance and dimensional inspection initiatives at a client site in St. Louis, MO. This role focuses on precise dimensional measurements using a variety of QC tools and programming of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), particularly Hexagon systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong quality background, hands-on programming experience with PC-DMIS CAD++, and a solid understanding of GD&T principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, optimize, and validate CMM programs using PC-DMIS CAD++, CAD models, engineering drawings, and dimensional specifications.
Perform complex First Article Inspections (FAI) and create graphical representations of measurement results.
Conduct detailed dimensional inspections using a variety of tools, including:
Hexagon and Nikon CMMs
Optical Gauging Products (OGP)
Keyence multisensor systems
Microscopes, optical comparators, measure scopes
Mechanical and electrical test instruments
Interpret detailed engineering drawings and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure conformance.
Create concise and accurate inspection reports using QC measurement systems.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for QC measurement systems including OGP, Keyence, and others.
Support IQ/OQ/PQ activities for installation and decommissioning of QC equipment.
Collaborate on continuous improvement efforts, SOP development, equipment assessments, and documentation aligned with GMP requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve programming and measurement issues, including working with external vendors as needed.
Participate in GxP assessments and contribute to validation and compliance documentation.
Required Qualifications:
Strong background in quality engineering and dimensional inspection.
Proficient in Hexagon CMM programming using PC-DMIS CAD++.
Experience with Fixture Builder and CMM fixturing best practices.
Deep understanding of GD&T, including certifications or formal training.
Prior experience conducting and leading FAIs.
Familiarity with equipment validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and cGMP documentation.
