A prominent General Contractor is seeking an experienced EHS Manager for a direct hire opportunity supporting a mission-critical data center facility project in Northern Virginia. Key Responsibilities:
Lead all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) operations on a large-scale data center construction site, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable regulations.
Conduct daily documented safety inspections and thorough hazard analyses to identify and address potential risks.
Deliver comprehensive site-specific safety orientations and maintain onboarding compliance for all project personnel.
Oversee crane operations, critical lifts, and elevated work activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Facilitate and participate in Daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to promote proactive risk mitigation across trades.
Investigate incidents and near-misses, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
Partner with project management teams to foster a proactive, injury-free culture aligned with company safety goals.
Analyze safety performance through leading and lagging indicators and implement targeted action plans.
Review and audit contractor EHS plans, ensuring strict adherence and continuous compliance improvement.
Confirm that all workers are appropriately trained and qualified for site-specific tasks, including high-risk work.
Lead site safety meetings, toolbox talks, and collaborate with trade partner EHS teams for coordinated site safety leadership.
Act as the primary liaison for client-side risk management and EHS communications.
Deliver tailored EHS training sessions and reinforcement programs to enhance site-wide engagement.
Support the execution of positive reinforcement and recognition programs to sustain high safety performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years of EHS experience in commercial construction, specifically supporting data center or mission-critical facility projects.
Strong knowledge of large-scale MEP systems, crane operations, high-voltage electrical safety, and heavy equipment operations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software (e.g., Procore, Velocity EHS).
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or a related field.
OSHA 510 required; OSHA 500 preferred.
Advanced safety certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, GSP, or STS highly preferred.
