JOB SUMMARY:
The Process/Industrial Engineer will develop, optimize and oversee manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and ensure high-quality production. This role involves working closely with production teams, conducting process analysis and implementing improvements to meet organizational goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to evaluate current manufacturing practices and identify opportunities for improvement, including cost reduction, throughput increase, and workflow efficiency.
Perform value stream mapping, time studies, capacity analysis, layout/production flow analysis, and document standard work in a high volume, high variation facility, to identify wastes.
Analyze product specifications and performance requirements to determine process and tooling designs and costs for new product and confirm manufacturing capabilities, including feasibility review, PFMEA, and process validation.
Calculate production capacity and coordinate with production and quality teams on APQP and production planning.
Assist the Accounting department with the analysis of production-related cost variance.
Assist the EHS department with the analysis and improvement of job safety through ergonomic risk identification and reduction.
Develop solutions, including the design and implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles, to improve operational efficiencies and meet Quality, Delivery, and Cost goals.
Drive the projects to increase productivity, reduce lead-time, improve quality, and cost savings, including the design review and approval process for related capital investments.
Design, redesign, and enhance layout, workflow, and tool designs to minimize waste, optimize throughput and yield, and enhance ergonomics in the workplace.
Communicate with management and other personnel to develop production and design standards
Determine metrics and create dashboards to monitor progress and effectively communicate with management
Develop and maintain standard labor hours, cycle time and takt time data
Maintains and updates Bills of Materials, routings, and standard cost.
Develop and implement quality control procedures to resolve production problems or minimize costs
Enhance/develop Standardized Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and support the training of production staff.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Process Engineering or related technical field.
5 years’ experience in a Process/Industrial engineering role in a manufacturing environment
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft office 365
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES and/or REGISTRATIONS:
Lean Six Sigma experience (Green Belt or higher certification preferred)
