We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Purchasing Manager to oversee our procurement processes. The ideal candidate will prepare and monitor purchase orders, manage supplier development, and provide ERP support to ensure effectiveness. The Purchasing Manager must work closely with supply chain contacts, finance, and operations to ensure project effectiveness. This role will also be responsible for identifying and implementing opportunities for cost savings, improving vendor performance, and driving process improvements across the supply chain.
Job Duties
Essential Functions
Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for raw material and services.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery
Identify and select the most suitable suppliers based on reliability, product quality, cost-efficiency, and strategic fit
Manage contract negotiations and maintain long-term supplier partnerships
Evaluate supplier risk and develop mitigation plans to prevent supply chain disruptions and discussed with management
Facilitate vendor audits and track supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, and cost
Develop, monitor, and maintain an accurate and efficient supplier database
Partner with operations to manage external vendors and ensure the accurate and timely delivery of goods and services
Prepare and manage purchase orders; solicit bids and review requisitions for materials and services
Maintain appropriate inventory levels of raw materials, supplies, and components to support production demand
Analyze price proposals, financial data, and market trends to determine competitive and reasonable pricing
Monitor logistics functions, including scheduling timely part deliveries and overseeing shipping and receiving
Use ERP systems to manage procurement activities, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and generate reports
Collaborate with quality assurance to address and resolve non-conformances and material issues
Advocate for and support a clean, organized work environment through 5S practices
Develop and maintain strong working relationships across departments and with key external partners
Work effectively in a dynamic team environment with frequently shifting priorities
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of supply chain processes, best practices, and commodity price trends
Perform other duties as assigned to support a positive customer experience and strengthen customer relationships

Job Specifications
Requirements
Bachelor’s or associate degree in business, procurement, or related field (preferable)
2+ years’ experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position, preferably within a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge Microsoft Office products; Outlook, Excel and Word
Thorough competence in databases, spreadsheets, and ERP systems
Must have ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Active listening, critical thinking and cost-effective decision making are required
Ability to remain calm under difficult and high-pressure situations
Proficient ability to detect errors and inconsistencies
Ability to work with others in a team environment and to give/receive feedback
Must bring others together to try to reconcile differences
