We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the engineering, development, documentation, programming, and technical support of our standardized Integrated products. This role focuses on mass-produced electrical components such as I/O devices, PLCs, HMIs, transformers, protective elements, surge arrestors, metering systems, and core components like current-carrying conductors and circuit protection devices. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with multiple departments to ensure designs are implemented accurately within our Jacksonville, FL manufacturing plant, with occasional travel (up to 30%) to other IEM plants and client sites for product launches and troubleshooting.Key Responsibilities
Lead the initial design and development of new distribution and control products.
Create, evaluate, test, and maintain automation programs, either developed in-house or received from clients.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives for product design, automation testing, and data gathering through innovative programming solutions.
Collaborate with clients to optimize and refine IEM-specific implementations of their designs.
Author technical documentation for system and equipment operation, working alongside technical writers.
Provide technical support to both external clients and internal teams (production, field service) to ensure smooth operations and troubleshoot issues.
Facilitate communication between engineering disciplines and trade professionals to support project execution.Competencies
Strong understanding of communications network architectures, including TCP/IP and Modbus.
Proficiency in applicable programming languages, such as VBA, C/C++, Python, PLC/Ladder Logic, and protective relays.
Expertise in communication protocols and network architectures (RS-232, RS-485, TCP/IP, Modbus).
Competency with CAD software (AutoCAD preferred) and Microsoft Office products.
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field from a four-year accredited institution, OR 10+ years in an engineering role.
Deep knowledge of relevant industry standards (UL, CSA, CEC, NEC, ANSI).
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey both technical and non-technical concepts.
Hands-on experience with industrial programming, specifically for PLCs, remote I/O devices, and HMIs.
Familiarity with NRTL evaluation and certification processes is a plus.
Experience working in manufacturing environments and mechanical aptitude is advantageous.
