Desktop Support Administrator
Job Type: Full-Time Location: On-site (Olive Branch, Mississippi)
Optomi, in partnership with one of our premier clients, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Desktop Support Technician to provide on-site IT support for our internal users in Mississippi. This position is responsible for end-to-end desktop support, including hardware provisioning, imaging, application management, user access control, and endpoint security, with a strong focus on Windows-based environments.
As the sole IT presence in this location, the ideal candidate must be highly self-sufficient, customer-focused, and capable of managing technical needs independently. This role supports Windows 10-to-11 upgrade efforts and leverages tools like Intune, Group Policies, and Office 365.

Experience of the Right Candidate:
2-5+ years of hands-on experience in desktop support or IT operations.
Strong expertise in Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.
Proficiency with Intune, Group Policies, and Active Directory.
Familiarity with Office 365, Adobe, and related desktop applications.
Experience with hardware imaging, deployment, and support.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to lift and move computer equipment.
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:
Provide hands-on technical support for desktops, laptops, and peripherals in a 100% Windows-based environment.
Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and network connectivity issues.
Maintain and streamline processes for imaging, configuration, and deployment of machines (Windows 10 and 11).
Provide support for desktop applications, including Microsoft 365, Adobe, and other productivity tools.
Manage and maintain Intune configurations and Group Policies to enforce desktop standards.
Assist with the administration of desktop application rollouts and updates.
Perform endpoint security support including patching, antivirus, and encryption monitoring.
Handle Active Directory user provisioning, permissions management, and file share access control.
Ensure proper access controls are applied and adjusted as users change roles or leave the organization.
Perform hardware imaging, setup, shipping/receiving, and break/fix tasks on-site.
Manage inventory of desktop hardware and software, ensuring accurate asset tracking and availability.
Provide shipping and receiving support for IT equipment and coordinate with remote IT teams as needed.
Identify opportunities to streamline and document desktop support processes.
Maintain accurate records of support issues and resolutions using ticketing systems.
