Role Description
We are looking for a Litigation Paralegal with at least 3 years of experience to join our Irvine office. The ideal candidate should have previous experience assisting with trial preparation, filing and service of pleadings, organizing and compiling documents and other information, researching case-related files and source, and coordinating with attorneys, courts, and related parties.
This will be a hybrid position.
Litigation Paralegal responsibilities include:
Preparing legal documents, including appeals, complaints, discovery requests, motions, briefs, pretrial agreements, subpoenas, and summonses.
Responding to Discovery/E-Discovery responses, propounding Discovery, and working with e-Discovery platforms in state and federal courts.
Reviewing and summarizing medical records, depositions, and documents.
Assisting lawyers with preparation for arbitration, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
Managing case files, documents, exhibits, and evidence.
Liaising with clients, court personnel, attorneys, and administrative staff.
The successful candidate will also have:
Superb research, writing, and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and take pride and ownership of their work product.
Knowledge of state and federal court rules, ensuring pleadings adhere to guidelines.
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment for several attorneys and manage competing priorities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal
Experience drafting, cite-checking, and correcting legal briefs
Working knowledge of case management software and Microsoft Office 365
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
