Machinist

Responsibilities

The Lathe Machinist position is part of the Machine Department Team. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position will require a broad range of responsibilities to ensure success. Some examples of these responsibilities are listed below (but are not limited to the following):

Perform set up on manual lathes and CNC lathes

Verifies conformance of finished work piece(s) to specifications using various measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers

Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints to ensure accurate production

Loads and unloads parts, operating multiple machines as needed

Stays on task and ensures current day scheduled work is completed on time

Maintains an organized, safe, and clean work area

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Completion of a technical program in machining preferred

Three to Five years of manual machining experience on a lathe

Three years’ experience setting up manual machines

Strong problem solving and math skills

Experience using calipers, micrometers, and gauges

Experience in reading blueprints.

Experience with ProtoTRAK preferred but not required.
