A little bit about the position,

The CAD Drafter will produce technical drawings and plans based on the specifications provided by project managers, designers, and engineers. This role requires precision, creativity, and a strong understanding of codes and permitting processes specific to Los Angeles. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include,

Create and modify detailed drawings using AutoCAD.

Draft site plans, floor plans, elevations, and construction details for hospitality, restaurant, and commercial projects.

Translate conceptual sketches and client ideas into accurate technical documents.

Revise drawings based on feedback from project managers, clients, or city agencies.

Coordinate with project team members, including designers, permit expeditors, and consultants.

Ensure all drawings comply with relevant codes, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements (especially LA Building and LA County Health guidelines).

Maintain organized project files and version control of all drafts.

Support the permitting process by preparing submittal-ready drawing sets.

Participate in occasional site surveys and field verifications.

Reliable transportation to get to job sites (even when public transit is not an option)

Adequate home internet.

Applicants must live in the Los Angeles area.

Required skills include,

Ability to interpret and apply redlines and markups.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

Experience with preparing Construction Documents for Submittal to regulatory agencies

Experience measuring job sites and creating accurate As-Built Plans

Experience with California Building Code, Health Code, ADA, Plumbing Codes

Interest in hospitality development and the restaurant community

Physical Requirements of the position,

Ability to drive to and from various offices at various distances

Ability to walk job-sites, take measurements, climb ladders, walk-on building roofs

Finger and wrist dexterity for repetitive motions related to a computer keyboard and mouse use and preparing plans for plan check (stapling, rolling out, binding)

This position is full-time, with hours from 8:30 to 5:00 PM totaling a minimum 40 hours per week with paid overtime. You will be expected to work overtime to complete tasks and meet deadlines when needed.
